Jazz Observatory
Communities, organizations, and individuals across the US and around the world benefit from the insights derived from Earth observations. By showcasing these impacts in innovative ways, compelling storytelling can help inspire new approaches to using Earth observations to drive science and inform policy. The US Group on Earth Observations, representing over a dozen US Federal agencies and the broader US Earth Observations Enterprise (public, private, non-profit, academic, etc.), designs unique exhibit spaces for the global Group on Earth Observations’ GEO Week each year. These approachable and fun exhibits foster greater awareness of the benefits of Earth observations and Earth science, tell engaging stories about our projects and people, celebrate our partners’ achievements, and feature fresh, diverse voices to reach new audiences.
One of our flagship concepts is the US Jazz Observatory. All great jazz musicians rely on collaboration to tap into their talent and create an experience that changes our understanding of what’s possible. The same is true for the members of the Earth Observations Enterprise, who use their individual strengths to collectively set the stage for a better life on Earth. While we can’t create the three-dimensional effect of these booths here, our hope is that through the pictures and interactive features you too can enjoy the stories of Earth observations.
